Stephan Perdekamp

 

Stephan Perdekamp is the author of 36 stage plays.

 

At the age of 23, he made his directorial debut in Munich, Germany. At 26, he directed his first feature film and at 28, he staged his first opera. Being a versatile artist, he worked as director of operas, movies and theater productions, as actor and voice-over artist as well as script writer, producer and executive producer of different movie projects in Germany and Austria.

 

Stephan Perdekamp is the founder of the acting school “Open Acting Academy” with branches in Hamburg and Vienna. He also launched the business firm “Art Connects” – a company offering business coachings in emotional communication. Furthermore, he founded the acting and theater company “unStill- Stueckeschmiede” as well as the “blackbox|Theater” in Vienna, Austria.

 

All of his plays premiered in either Germany or Austria and most of them were revived several times.

 

Between 1991 and 2004, he developed his own acting method (P.E.M.), which in 2004, was accredited at the University of Vienna. Since then, the P.E.M. has been used by actors, voice-over actors, singers, musicians, dancers, presenters and artists across Europe and in America.

 

The P.E.M. is also used for projects in psychology and medicine to allow for a more sensitive, accurate and deeper perception of the body. These projects have even been extended into the field of equestrianism and animal training. Perdekamp’s method is also in use at university for lectures such as “The Importance of Body Language in Communication”.

 

In 2011, Stephan Perdekamp’s production of “Surviving Love” was invited to the Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York City.

 

His school – the “Open Acting Academy” – currently co-operates with Steinlein Productions in Los Angeles.
